I received my massage certification from the University of Alaska Anchorage in June, 2002.
I specialize in neck and back pain. I am trained in many different types of massage and primarily use deep tissue techniques like myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy. In addition I use acupressure and Swedish massage and am a certified prenatal massage therapist. I am also certified in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique.
I also have a B.A. from the University of Southern Indiana in Philosophy and Associates degree from Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona.

I graduated with honors from the Massage therapy program at Career Academy in August of 2008 and received great praises from many of my instructors.
As a former athlete, I understand the many aches and pains that athletes experience. Therefore, I am uniquely able to meet the massage therapy needs of athletes.
I specialize in Swedish Relaxation Massage, Deep tissue, Trigger Point Therapy and Chair massage. I also offer hot stone massage therapy.

I graduated form the Oriental Healing Arts Center. In addition to bodyMechanics, I work out of the airport at the Right Touch, offering chair massage to travelers. This venue offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of body types and conditions. I practice Deep Tissue, Swedish massage, Chair Massage, and Acupressure. I have an intuitive touch and adjust techniques to my clients’ individual needs. I am always learning and eager to broaden my skill sets.

I graduated from the Oriental Healing Arts Center where I learned Swedish relaxation massage and deep tissue techniques. We also studied Chinese medicine, bodywork, and philosophies. Since then I have traveled to Beijing, China to study Tuina acupressure massage techniques. I have added vibrational therapy with tuning forks to my technical abilities and occasionally use this technique with clients.
I am always looking for ways to continue my education and advance in the fields of massage, bodywork, and other alternative health practices. Currently I am taking Yoga Teacher Training to give my clients additional information with stretches that will help with their I have been told I have a healing touch and a calming presence, with this and my ever expanding technical abilities I help my clients leave their session relaxed and relieved of pain.

I left Alaska for a year to get my massage certification at the Desert Institute of Healing Arts-Cortiva in Tucson, Arizona in 2006-2007.
I have been trained in many facets of massage and specialize in orthopedic and sports massage. I also offer relaxing Swedish massage and neuromuscular therapy. During my training I did a semester working with college athletes at the University of Arizona and semi-pro cyclists for performance improvement and injury management and rehabilitation. I have continued this work here in Alaska with triathletes, a duathlete and clients that have pain or discomfort from injuries or have rehabilitation needs.

While in the pursuit of a degree in Exercise Physiology I completed the Massage Therapy certification program at UAA in 2000 and continued on teaching their practicum unit. Supplementing the Swedish modality foundation from UAA and the extensive anatomy & physiology related studies I obtained my National Certification in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. Further studies were gained in facilitated stretching, pain management & orthopedic/sport massage, oncology massage as well as myofascial release & unwinding from John F. Barnes. In 2005 I obtaining an interdisciplinary BS in Corporate Wellness & Worksite Health Promotions from UAA. Worked with Jillian and Chloe at Undo-Stress for many years before following them in 2006 to bodyMechanics. I enjoy working together with my clients toward their pursuit of health and a lifestyle focused on wellness.
